If I had to name a celebrity family I wish I could be a part of, I'd scream, "THE BECKHAMS" before I even had a chance to really think about it too hard. The Beckhams have always appeared to be a very tight-knit family unit, and the love they all have for each other is always put on display, which makes me feel warm inside. Victoria and David's oldest son, Brooklyn, seems to genuinely love spending time with his parents and three younger siblings, despite being 19 (he may be super *cool* but not too cool to snap a pic with his brothers and baby sister [3] with the caption "Love you guys").
Which is why I'm especially peeved that Victoria is getting judgmental comments on her recent photo of her and a shirtless Brooklyn [4], simply because he — a 19-year-old who can legally get tattooed — has so much visible ink.
"Contemplating how to rate today's Uber driver," Victoria wrote on the photo of her and Brooklyn, who was sitting in the driver's seat of a car. The photo has since gotten thousands of comments, some of which are shaming the mom for "allowing" her son to have so many tattoos [5], others standing up for the mom of four.
"Did you approve all those tattoos?" one commenter asked, clearly unaware of the fact that Brooklyn's an adult, it's his body, and tattoos are his choice [6]. Another added: "As a mother, I would have NEVER posted a picture like this. Nothing to be proud of."
Although there were several other nasty comments about Brooklyn's body and Victoria's parenting, there were luckily more people who rushed to their defence. "Tattoos are a personal choice [7]. Brooklyn is an adult. Why are there so many negative remarks aimed at Victoria? Victoria and David are role models in parenting," one person wrote. Another said in response to a particularly rude comment: "Wait until your own children are adults before you start judging. You will soon learn not to sweat the small stuff. And believe me, in the grand scheme of life, this is definitely small stuff."
My favourite comment? "Well brought-up kids," one commenter wrote. "I have an 18-year-old who won't even sit next to me much less hang out with me. The Beckhams need to share their parenting secrets."
