Video of LeBron James Giving a Pep Talk to a Player

LeBron James Gave the World's Greatest Pep Talk to a Young Basketball Player, and Can He Coach Me Too?

Despite the fact that I'm absolutely horrendous at basketball, I know a good pep talk when I see one. Recently, one lucky player was the target of a pump-up from LeBron James — arguably the most versatile player ever — and I can't even put into words how jealous I am.

Although I wasn't there in the flesh, I'm happy to share that we can all relive the moment thanks to LeBron's Instagram post that captured what he had to say. He captioned the video: "After my guy Bryce and his team came back to win a game they had no business winning I had a few words for him going forward," and you're going to want to bookmark it.

He sat Bryce down for a heart-to-heart and encouraged him not to be so hard on himself. "Listen . . . you made three of the biggest plays in the game," he said. "Do you want me to tell you what they were? You get too down on yourself for no reason."

After rattling off all of Bryce's accomplishments — including snagging an offencive rebound and making a key pass during a crucial moment — LeBron stressed that it's not always about sinking jump shots.

"If you're missing shots or making shots, don't worry about it kid," he said, adding that, "You played a hell of a game. You [don't need] to worry about missing shots or making shots . . . Good job. I'm proud of you."
