1980's Mom Vs 2018 Mom Halloween Edition [1]

I had a blast making this video with my girl Tiffany from Juggling The Jenkins! Which Halloween Mom are you? 1980's or 2018??? Maybe a bit of both? Happy Halloween!

Whether you yourself were an '80s mom or you had an '80s mom, it's clear that there are quite a few differences between those mothers and the ones of today [3] — especially when it comes to Halloween [4] traditions. Today, moms start thinking about Halloween in August, carefully pinning costume and decor ideas to their Pinterest boards. In the '80s, moms thought about Halloween a few days ahead of the holiday, if that, and handed their kids a pillowcase for candy and a roll of toilet paper so they could TP their friends' houses.

In a video posted to Facebook [5], Meredith Masony of That's Inappropriate [6] plays a mom from 1988 who literally hands her kid a giant kitchen knife to go carve pumpkins down the street, while Tiffany Jenkins of Juggling the Jenkins [7] plays a mom of today, who takes the tiny, itsy-bitsy carving saw and "rollie death machine" (aka the perforated design tool) out of the carving kit so her kids won't get hurt. The juxtaposition between the two mom figures [8] is accurate, hilarious, and made me choke on my morning coffee. Enjoy!
