When you think back to how you spent your summers in the '80s [1], whether you were a parent or child, things were certainly a lot less restricted then. As a child of the '80s, I can certainly attest to feeling like the world was a lot more accessible. And summertime specifically was an opportunity to let loose and have fun.

In a video recently posted to Facebook [2], Meredith Masony of That's Inappropriate [3] hilariously captures the differences of Summer between an '80s mom and one of today. Meredith plays the role of very relaxed mom who spends her Summers poolside, soaking up the sun and coating her skin in baby oil — because that's how you get tan! — and kinda-sorta keeping tabs on her kids' whereabouts. A drastic comparison as we cut to "today's mom" played by Tiffany of Juggling the Jenkins [4], who has an arsenal of UV-blocking lotions and potions to protect her kids from the sun — and everything else. Watch it and try not to laugh too loudly remembering how you or your mom were back in the day!
