I Just Watched Coffee Roll Right Off of These Stain-Free White Jeans and My Jaw Is Still on the Floor

I'd learned of Old Navy's stain-free white jeans [1] a while ago, but it wasn't until I was out with a messy baby on my hands that I thought about giving them a try. White jeans are admittedly something I've stayed away from lately — postpartum body changes [2] coupled with the frequency with which I get spitup on me has put black trousers at the front of my closet — but I was excited to see if the "stain-free" component could hold up. The results? Unless you plan on jumping into a vat of wine, I'd rank these pretty high on the stain-resistant spectrum. Find out how they stacked up.

The fit

I was surprised by how comfortable they were. I expected them to feel waxy and stiff on the outside, but they were nice and soft. (Ignore my right hand placement.)

Test 1

The first thing I did was play on the floor with my daughter. She wormed all over me, and just after this photo was taken she spit up on my leg. I wiped it away with my hand easily.

Test 2

I was nervous for the next experiment: sitting in the dirt and grass and rolling around. No stains. I even sat on dirty steps and nothing clung to my pants.

Test 3

To fully assess whether these pants were stain-free, I upped the ante. My hand shook with trepidation as I intentionally poured coffee onto the virginal fabric. What happened following was like nothing I'd seen. The coffee just sat on the fabric as though they were plastic.

The clean-up

After five wipes the coffee was completely gone.

The proof

Close-up shot, post-coffee.

I'm convinced that I just found the most baby-friendly pants that exist.
