Why Chrissy Teigen Loves Living With Her Mom

Chrissy Teigen Says Her Mom's a “Ball of Energy,” Which Makes Living With Her a Blast

I love my mother dearly, but for me, the thought alone of having her move in with me full time after I have kids is enough to give me a debilitating migraine. For Chrissy Teigen, that sentiment couldn't be further from the truth. The 33-year-old mom of two says she loves having her mom, Vilailuck, live with her, John Legend, and their two kids, 2-year-old Luna and 8-month-old Miles. In fact, when asked what her favourite part about having her mom around is, she didn't even know where to start.

"Oh my god, so many things!" Chrissy told POPSUGAR in an interview about John Legend's recent ad for Pampers. "We have such a unique relationship; we're so close — she's still my mother, but obviously I'm old enough now where we've become best friends."

However, even as best friends and a mother-daughter pair, they're opposites in a big way. "She's just a ball of energy! She just never, ever is cranky. I think that's the weirdest thing about her. I'm such a moody person. When I'm sad, I'm very sad, when I'm happy, I'm really happy — I'm all over the place. But with her, she's just so happy and so excited. Everything excites her. I think [celebrities] can become jaded with our jobs and things, but I love that when we take her to an awards show, or anywhere really, she's always looking at things with these wide, excitable eyes. It's really cool to show everything to her and get her excited. I love bringing her places, like the Super Bowl — I just love bringing her everywhere because she gets so excited."

And that definitely rubs off on Chrissy's kids. "She's a kid at heart," Chrissy said. "Everyone says that about grandmothers, that they're able to be fun and they're not as worried as they were with their own children. So yeah, she is the fun grandma. It's also nice, too, to have so much help from her, because it takes a village. Luna just loves her so much. Whether it's bath time with Yāy, or whatever, she just loves being around my mom. It's also a tradition thing — we love being able to have her live with us and be a part of our family."

Sounds so fun! So, uh, can we move in, too, orrrrrr . . . ?
