Amy Schumer Shares Photo With Her Son's Nanny

Amy Schumer’s Post About Her Nanny Makes My Former Nanny Heart Flutter: “I Love Her Very Much”

Amy Schumer is letting the world know that she loves her infant son's nanny, and my former nanny heart is so happy, it's fluttering. In a photo posted on Instagram, the mom of 8-month-old Gene, who she shares with husband Chris Fisher, can be seen sporting a white sheet mask alongside Gene's nanny.

"This is our nanny who makes it possible for me to work and know that our baby is happy and healthy," Amy, who went back to work when Gene was 3 months old, wrote in the photo's caption. "I love her very much and we also both want to have nice skin."

Amy is just one of several celebrities who have professed their love for the nannies who help them to care for their children and keep their family's lives manageable, but we sincerely hope that she isn't immediately judged for having help, like other celebrity parents have been.

Most recently, Chrissy Teigen was shamed for sharing that she's grateful for the people who help keep her household running, despite continuously being open and honest about having help. And in May of 2019, Khloé Kardashian was shamed, not only for having a nanny, but for having the nanny around when she herself was home or out with her child. Her response? "I choose to treat everybody like family that is in my house."

As a former nanny, seeing Amy — or any celebrity — share an image of herself with her nanny beside her, professing her love for a woman who undoubtedly cares for her son very much, is amazing. Nannying isn't always the easiest gig; we know parenting is tough, but parenting another person's child can be just as — if not even more in some ways — difficult. But loving another parent's child? That's usually the easiest part of the job, and to be praised for all the rest is just a really sweet bonus. Add a luxurious shared skincare routine into the mix, and well, you've got yourself just about the perfect employer there.
