Barack Obama got some good, old-fashioned quality time with his 19-year-old daughter Malia's boyfriend amid the COVID-19 outbreak. While discussing sports and politics on an episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, he briefly shared how Malia's beau social distanced with his family.
"Like I think a lot of families, we went through that first month where we were playing games every night and doing a little arts and crafts projects and then slowly, they started to get a little bored with us," he explained, noting that he and Michelle taught the kids how to play spades, which included a sufficient amount of "trash talk."
Although Obama wanted to find a reason to dislike him, the father of two admitted that Malia's boyfriend is an all-around awesome guy. "He's British. Wonderful young man, and he was sort of stuck because there was a whole visa thing and he had a job set up," he shared. "So we took him in and I didn't want to like him, but he's a good kid. The only thing you discover . . . young men eat! It's weird to watch them consume food. My grocery bill went up about 30 percent."
