Our Editors Share 12 Must Haves For November, For Babies, Young Kids, and Even Parents!

01/11/2019 - 01:25 PM

November can certainly become a time of indulgence. With holidays coming up, it's easy to fall guilty of overspending, overeating, and perhaps neglecting ourselves a bit in the process. For November, our editors searched high and low for some of the best baby products [1] to make life a bit easier on everyone — a lot related to feeding time — and also did a bit of investigating to find some great kid's reads. The cold-weather season is approaching, too, so we have a few products that will help with that as well.

Baby Brezza Instant Warmer

"The newest product in a line that aims to make feeding your baby as easy as possible, the Baby Brezza Instant Warmer [2] ($50) makes a warm formula bottle in one easy step. Featuring three temperature settings — body, room, and warmer than body — the warmer is able to maintain the selected temperature so that you can dispense warm water in seconds to make the perfect bottle. Now that it's cooler out and getting out of bed is becoming more difficult, the warmer will make late-night and early-morning feeds that much more bearable, and that's something we can get behind!" — Alessia Santoro, editor

Kiki & Jax: The Life-Changing Magic of Friendship

"The organisational maven is at it again, this time in the form of a sweet new book for kids! Kiki & Jax: The Life-Changing Magic of Friendship [3] ($17) gives kids a taste of Marie's methods early." — Murphy Moroney, associate editor

Music & Lights 3-in-1 Discovery Seat & Booster

"Spacing-saving is the name of the game with the Music & Lights 3-in-1 Discovery Seat & Booster [4] ($45). You'll love the booster seat because it grows with your baby, going from an interactive play space to a toddler snack seat! Works from 4 months to 4 years old." — Rebecca Brown, senior editor

Fawn Design The Pack

"If you love Fawn Design's original nappy bags — or the mini, or the fanny pack, or the tote — you are going to lose it over their newest creation, The Pack [5] ($140). The just-launched design is a fresh, modern take on the traditional backpack. A new classic! Like all Fawn pieces, it's made from vegan leather, is ridiculously resilient and easy to clean, and has the same chic gold hardware touches that make it stand out among all the other 'mom bags' on the market." — Kate Schweitzer, senior editor

Kindred Braverly Sublime Hands-Free Pumping & Nursing Bra

"Kindred Braverly's Sublime Hands-Free Pumping & Nursing Bra [6] ($50) has made the transition back to work so much easier! I love that I only need one bra for the day to seamlessly transition from hands-free pumping at work to nursing at home. It's soft, supportive, and looks surprisingly normal under clothes." — Angela Elias, content director

Blush grabease Double Sided Toothbrush

"Now that my toddler is becoming more independent, she wants to hold her toothbrush herself, and nothing makes me feel more secure than handing her the Blush grabease Double Sided Toothbrush [7] ($13). It's double-sided so she can clean the top and bottom teeth faster, and it has a choke-protection barrier." — RB

Little Feminist Book Club

"Diversify your child's bookshelf with the | Little Feminist 0-3-year-old Book Club [8] ($19-$23 per box, depending on subscription length), which includes new books for your kids each month. Available in three age ranges — 0-3, 3-7, and 7-9 — each box contains one or two empowering books that encourage empathy and equality, as well as a list of discussion questions. According to the Little Feminist website, 'Only 31 percent of children's books feature a female character, and only 13 percent feature a person of colour,' so this subscription box aims to help your little feminist's bookshelf to become much more inclusive." — AS

World Vision Handmade Baby Bib

"The World Vision Handmade Baby Bib [9] ($40) is so much more than an infant food-catcher. Made by artisans in Bali using only sustainable recycled fabrics, this bib is one of many gifts available from World Vision, a global humanitarian organisation. Proceeds from this item will go toward meeting the most urgent needs of expecting mothers and their families in developing countries." — KS

ezpz First Foods Set

"I've long been a fan of ezpz. My one complaint? I didn't discover them when I first introduced my babies to food! So now that the brand has launched a ezpz First Foods Set [10] ($35) for babies 4 months and up, it's my go-to baby shower gift. The four-piece set provides all of the developmental tools you need to set baby up for mealtime milestones. Plus, it's dishwasher-safe, and the silicone material will last through it all." — KS

BEB Healing Gel

"I use this preemie and NICU-safe BEB Healing Gel [11] ($64) to spot-treat my baby's acne and eczema flare-ups. Not only does it heal his skin within a few days, but it also makes him smell like rose petals! While the price is steep, a little goes a long way, and it's just as effective on my skin." — AE

PJ Shirt Dress

"Ever since having kids, I run hot. Even in the cooler Fall months, I end up waking up sweaty in regular PJs. Then I tried the PJ Shirt Dress [12] ($80) from sleepwear brand Recliner, and it's a total hit. Although it wasn't originally meant for maternity wear or nursing, the company has since discovered through customer feedback that it's attracted new moms thanks to its ultrabreathable stretch cotton fabric and loose cut. It's certainly kept me from waking up in a puddle of sweat, and with two kids, I need all the sleep I can get!" — KS

EMU Australia Starry Night Brumby

"Make chilly mornings fun with these EMU Australia Starry Night Brumby [13] ($100) boots, which actually glow in the dark, too!" — RB
