Bindi Irwin Re-Created a Sweet Moment From Her Parents' Pregnancy, and It's So Touching
While creative, themed maternity photoshoots are certainly beautiful, sometimes, a simple snap can be just as special. Bindi Irwin's recent pregnancy shot is proof of just that: the wildlife conservationist re-created a throwback photo from her childhood featuring her and her father, Steve Irwin, kissing mum Terri's pregnant belly. On Jan. 14, Bindi shared the sweet tribute, in which husband Chandler Powell is leaning down to kiss her baby bump, mirroring the original photo. "Recreating a very special moment. Third trimester love. ❤️," she captioned the post.
The couple, who announced they were expecting a baby girl together back in August, also honoured her late father's legacy with a beautiful piece of artwork made by a fan last year. A fan had created a professional wedding portrait featuring Steve, who died on Sept. 4, 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Bindi and Chandler tied the knot in a secret ceremony at the Australia Zoo in March 2020. Get a closer look at both of the touching pregnancy photos above.
