On Sept. 24, Disneyland unveiled a touching mural honouring Chadwick Boseman as King T'Challa in Black Panther. Created by concept artist and former Disney Imagineer, Nikkolas Smith, the installation features Chadwick and a young boy wearing a Black Panther mask doing the Wakanda salute, remembering the actor's legacy and dedication to the role. The artwork, titled "King Chad," is displayed on the side of the former ESPN Zone building in Downtown Disney. Nikkolas shared photos and videos of the special reveal on Thursday, which he attended with his wife and newborn baby. "My King Chad tribute is now on a wall on display at Downtown Disney. 🐾," he wrote on Instagram. "It is a full circle moment for me: my final two projects as a Disney Imagineer last summer were working on the Children's Hospital project and the Avengers Campus." The artist also has prints of "King Chad" available to buy on his website, with a portion of proceeds being donated to both the Children's Hospital Los Angeles and St. Jude. On Aug. 28, Chadwick Boseman died at the age of 43 after a four-year battle with colon cancer. "To millions of kids, T'Challa was a legend larger than life, and there was no one more worthy to fill those shoes than Chadwick Boseman," Nikkolas also wrote on Instagram. "I'm so thankful to be able to honour Chadwick's life and purpose in this way." Take a closer look at his powerful tribute ahead.
