In less than one week, the University of Tennessee got a new t-shirt design and a potential new student for the graduating Class of 2032. Earlier this week, the news of a bullied elementary school kid went viral [4]. He was criticized for his homemade t-shirt that he designed for his Florida elementary school's college colours day, and his teacher was not having any of it. She reached out to her Facebook network to see if anyone could help her get the young student an official University of Tennessee shirt, and boy did they deliver.

After the school released the fourth grader's design as an official t-shirt, on Sept. 12, the school also offered the young fan a four-year scholarship [5]. "Vol Nation, you united around a #FutureVol who created his own UT shirt. And now we are thrilled to offer him a spot in the Class of 2032 and a four-year scholarship 🍊🎓," the school wrote on Twitter. The university added on its website [6] that they'd cover "his tuition and fees beginning Fall 2028 should he decide to attend UT and meet admission requirements."

The incredibly touching story warmed the hearts of thousands of people, and the school has shared that over 50,000 people have purchased his t-shirt design [7]. All proceeds made from his heartfelt shirt are going directly to the charity STOMP Out Bullying [8], a national anti-bullying foundation. The boy's teacher wrote on Facebook that after he learned his shirt was being made into official merchandise "his jaw dropped," and we can only imagine how ecstatic he was when learning of the scholarship news.
