After Growing Up Without a Father, a Man Made a Helpful YouTube Channel For Kids Who Need Support
Father of two Rob Kenney didn't have an easy childhood. Growing up in Bellevue, WA, in the 1970s, Rob learned that his father was walking out on his parental responsibilities when he was just a teenager.
"He got custody of us, but he didn't really want us," Rob said in a recent interview with Shattered. "I think he was kind of done by that time." One afternoon, the situation came to a head when his dad told him he didn't want anything to do with him or his siblings anymore. "He said, 'You know, I'm done having kids," explained Rob. "You're going to have to figure out where these kids are going because otherwise I'm putting them in foster homes.'"

Once he became a dad, Rob knew he needed to get creative when it came to helping those children growing up without a parent. Over the last month, he's been giving back to the community because of his experience through his YouTube channel, "Dad, how do I?" which provides kids and teens with "useful, practical content to many basic tasks that everyone should know how to do."
