Please Enjoy David Beckham Adorably Defending His Lego Obsession: "I Am a Little Kid"

David Beckham has many titles: retired professional football player, husband of 20 years, father of four children, dapper fashion icon, and, perhaps most unexpectedly, unflinching Lego enthusiast. The 44-year-old star stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday to chat about his family life, which led talk show host Jimmy to inquire about his obsession with the colourful plastic building bricks. David explained that he grew up assembling Lego pieces since the age of 8 or 9, and the hobby has carried over into his adult years, as he now stays up until the wee hours of the night piecing together giant sets by himself — y'know, for his kids, obviously.

David's Lego infatuation seems to amuse his wife Victoria Beckham, who often trolls him on Instagram for the hobby. "Victoria always laughs at me," David told Jimmy. "She'll come down at 2 o'clock in the morning, and I'll still be trying to finish a piece off." Despite the low age recommendations indicated on the boxes, David stands by his Lego fixation. "I am a little kid. I just love Lego. It calms me when I'm making it," the dad said. Welp, if that quote alone doesn't make your love for him grow tenfold, then the photo ahead of him proudly posing with his perfectly assembled Lego Disney castle certainly will!
