Freida Pinto, Jameela Jamil, and More Star in Disney Junior’s New Show: Mira, Royal Detective

The first episode of Mira, Royal Detective will air on Disney Junior on March 20 at 7 p.m. local time. According to a press release, "Each episode is comprised of two 11-minute stories that celebrate the cultures and customs of India by incorporating authentic food, fashion, language and art. Reflecting their importance in Indian culture, music and dance play an integral role in Mira, Royal Detective, with each episode featuring at least one original song and dance number that showcases the diversity of the culture."

Yes! Before the show's first episode aired on Disney Junior, a second season was ordered. "Mira, Royal Detective hasn't even premiered yet, and we have already seen the excitement building for this series featuring a brave and empowered young girl who will stop at nothing to solve a case," said Joe D'Ambrosia, senior vice president, Original Programming and general manager, Disney Junior, during a special advance screening of the series. "To ensure that we have plenty of new mysteries ahead for Mira, we are thrilled to begin production on a second season and can't wait to introduce her to the world."

Queen Shanti is voiced by Freida Pinto (The Path, Slumdog Millionaire).

Mira's Auntie Pushpa is voiced by Jameela Jamil (The Good Place).

Mira's mongoose, Mikku, is voiced by Kal Penn (Designated Survivor, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) and her other mongoose, Chikku, is voiced by Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project, Pitch Perfect).

Mira's friend, Pinky, is voiced by Hannah Simone (New Girl).

Mira's father, Sahil, is voiced by Aasif Mandvi (Shut Eye).

Mira's cousin, Meena, is voiced by Aparna Nancherla (BoJack Horseman).
