Gru and the Minions Teamed Up to Film a Lighthearted PSA For Kids About Staying Home

The World Health Organisation, United Nations Foundation, and production company Illumination have teamed up to release a very cute and lighthearted PSA starring everyone's favourite friendly villain, Gru from Despicable Me. Gru was social distancing way before the rest of us — or at least before he became a doting dad — so he has a few tips for your kids about staying safe, as well as ideas for activities to keep your family busy and to stay in touch with loved ones.

He ends the adorable PSA, which features clips from the Despicable Me and Minions movies, with an on-brand directive: "Now this does not come naturally to me, but try to be kind to each other. This is a tough time for everyone. . . Stay home, stay healthy, and remember, we're all in this together — but totally separate! You know what I mean."

The Minions were slated to star in their second feature film, Minions: The Rise of Gru this year, but the movie release was pushed back to July 2, 2021 due to the pandemic. Check out which kids' movies are still coming out in 2020, and if you can't wait, stream these family movies on Hulu now!
