Gwyneth Paltrow on Coparenting Kids With Chris Martin

Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About How She Successfully Coparents With Chris Martin

Sharing kids after a divorce certainly isn't easy, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have managed to learn how to successfully coparent and put their children first, since they "consciously uncoupled" back in 2016. In fact, during a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the Goop founder shared, "In a way, my divorce and relationship with Chris now is better than our marriage was." Gwyneth explained that the two were able to create this dynamic by remaining dedicated to doing what was best for their children, Apple and Moses.

"You're ending a marriage, but you're still in a family. That's how it will be forever."

"I really wanted my kids to not be traumatized, if it were possible," she told Drew. "Chris and I committed to putting them first and that's harder than it looks, 'cause some days you really don't want to be with the person that you are getting divorced from. But if you're committed to having family dinner, then you do it. You take a deep breath and you look the person in the eye, and you remember your pact." While some days are harder than others, Gwyneth said they're just trying their best to take accountability for their part in the relationship. "You're ending a marriage, but you're still in a family," she said. "That's how it will be forever." The actress and the Coldplay frontman were married from 2003 to 2016, and in September 2018, Gwyneth married her now-husband, television writer Brad Falchuk.
