Hilary Duff Admits Her Son's Second-Grade Homework Is "No Joke," and We Can Relate

Ah, celebrity parents — they're just like us! They struggle to get their entire family on board for cohesive group photos. They rely on their children for the inside scoop on mystifying modern-day trends. And yes, they even have a hard time helping their kiddos with elementary-school homework. Hilary Duff just proved that third fact while attempting to assist her 7-year-old son, Luca, with a second-grade assignment (keyword: attempting).

"Homework is already no joke in 2nd grade," the 32-year-old mother of two wrote while sharing an Instagram photo of her and Luca making funny faces in the middle of their joint homework session. "I stopped going to 'real' school in 3rd grade so I'm actually doomed . . . I am left scratching my head alll the time looking at his homework and I'm terrified for next year!" she said. Aaaand that's the sound of thousands of moms everywhere simultaneously saying, "Same!"

To refresh your memory on the start of Hilary's acting career, she starred in Casper Meets Wendy when she was just 10 years old, so she resorted to getting homeschooled to keep up with academics. A few years later, the actress went on to star in Lizzie McGuire, which will soon be getting a modern-day reboot. In the revival, Hilary will be turning 30 and going through "all of the challenges that you're faced with" at that age. Perhaps those "challenges" will eventually include helping a future onscreen child with their confusing homework? Talk about art imitating life!
