As Christmas approaches, your Elf on the Shelf will patiently hang with you and your kiddos, waiting for the holiday as they report back to Santa Claus on all the little ones' adventures. But since Elfs on the Shelf are known for their utmost responsibility and duty, it only makes sense they should don a face mask too! Create an opportunity for a learning experience with your kids by making a DIY face mask for your elf – it's easy, and makes for a fun, hands-on activity. Kids will love wearing a face mask just like their elf, and you can even make a few to change up your little pal's look. Not into the idea of sewing? No problem! All you need to outfit your little helper in a mask is a glue gun, glue stick, paper towels, a blue shop towel, and string. Make this mask in a little over five minutes, and you're done! Santa's scout is keeping safe and looking super cute too.

If you don't have a glue gun, that's perfectly okay too – you can still have your Elf on The Shelf looking as responsible as Santa's helper should. Use double-sided tape, scissors, and an old mask to make this super easy one-minute mask for your elf.

With Elf on the Shelf masks, the options truly are limitless. This tutorial shows you can use toilet paper (and some tape, scissors, and string) to make your festive buddy a mask of their own.
