Jason Momoa Won't Watch Dune With His Family Because His Son "Loses It" When He's Hurt in Movies
Jason Momoa's characters may be tough on screen, but the dad of three is a huge family man, and he's definitely raising sweet kids. In an interview with Men's Health, Jason spoke about his two children with wife Lisa Bonet, 13-year-old Lola and 11-year-old Nakoa-Wolf, and his stepdaughter, Zoë Kravitz, sharing that his family has been spending a lot of quality time together this year.
"We've all gotten so much closer," he said, adding that he and his kids have been spending a lot of time outdoors, rock climbing or playing. "My wife is very sophisticated and smart and [our kids and I are] kind of like animals that need to be trained a little better. I'm constantly a work in progress, and I've just been trying to get better as a father and a husband."
Although he considers himself, Lola, and Wolf to be a little wild, his son is also a sensitive soul, like his dad. Discussing Dune — his latest film that was meant to come out in 2020 but has been rescheduled for 2021 — Jason said that despite the pushed-back release date, he likely won't be watching it with his family until Wolf can handle it. It's not necessarily the action-packed scenes in general that bother the 11-year-old, but seeing his dad's characters getting bloodied up or injured.
"My son just loses it," he said of watching his movies with Wolf. "'Papa, are you okay?' And I'm like, 'Son, I'm sitting right next to you. We're good. This was two years ago. Just watch the movie.'"
