Jennifer Garner Defends Meghan Markle's Parenting

Meghan Markle Was Shamed Over a Video of Archie, but Jennifer Garner Will Have None of That, Thanks

For whatever reason — seriously, what the hell is the reason?! — Meghan Markle cannot catch a break, especially when it comes to those who feel the need to criticise her parenting of her son Archie, whom she shares with Prince Harry. After a sweet video of Meghan and her son was shared to the Save With Stories Instagram account on Archie's first birthday, a parent-shaming troll felt the need to pick apart the video, claiming that Meghan's reading and interacting with Archie was "phony."

But Save With Stories cofounder and national treasure, Jennifer Garner, will be having absolutely none of that, thank you very much. In a post to her own Instagram account on May 7, Jennifer shared the video of Meghan reading Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse Rosenthal to Archie to show her support.

"Thank you for sharing your gorgeous son with the world and allowing us to join you in celebrating his first birthday," Jennifer wrote to Meghan and Harry in the video's caption. "We are humbled and grateful that you chose @savewithstories to mark this special day and in so doing - have raised the visibility of @savethechildren's work in the US and UK and have helped feed and educate children in desperate need of both. More than anything - watching you lovingly talk through the pictures while your clever Archie turns the pages - lifts all of us up and reminds us that what may seem like a duck just might turn out to be a rabbit. Thank you for this joyful and meaningful shift in perspective."

And thank you, Jennifer, for always being a dang delight.
