Everything We Know About Jenny Slate's Baby Daughter, Ida
Jenny Slate is officially a mama! The comedian welcomed her first child with fiancé Ben Shattuck shortly after announcing her pregnancy during an interview with Seth Meyers. Of being pregnant through the pandemic, Jenny told Seth: "It's very nice to have something that is incredibly positive during a time that's hard and sad. It's nice to have a little secret treasure!"
Well, now that little treasure is officially earthside, and we couldn't be more excited for Jenny and Ben. Keep reading to learn more about their little one.
Ida Lupine
Jenny and Ben welcomed their first child, a daughter named Ida, shortly after Jenny shared her pregnancy news on Late Night with Seth Meyers's Dec. 10, 2020 episode. In a Feb. 3 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Jenny shared that Ida was 6 weeks old, likely putting her birthday sometime during the week of Dec. 20. Ida's name was one the couple simply loved and that honours their Jewish heritage, but Jenny did note that her middle name, Lupine, was chosen as a nod to one of their favourite flowers.
Jenny told ET that having Ida — "our sweet gal," as she referred to her — was "the most meaningful thing to ever happen to me." Neither new parent has shared a glimpse of Ida just yet, but considering how long Jenny kept her pregnancy news hushed, we're guessing they'll keep their daughter fairly private as well. Here's hoping we get a small peek at her in some capacity in the future!
