Kate Hudson's 2-Year-Old Daughter Loves to Steal Her Clothes

Like Mother, Like Daughter: Kate Hudson's 2-Year-Old Loves Raiding Her Closet

Kate Hudson's impeccable sense of style must run in the family, because her 2-year-old daughter Rani has already made a habit of raiding her closet — and we'd like dibs next, please. "She comes in my closet, the shoes are gone," the mother of three told People in a recent interview. "I'm learning so quickly that this whole 'everything that is mom's is yours' when you're a girl is real." But Rani isn't the only one who's a fan of her mom's style.

Since she was a child, Kate has been rummageing through her own mom, Goldie Hawn's, closet to "borrow" anything that catches her eye. "She took my La Mer, and she took my shoes," Goldie said during the interview before Kate admitted that she still borrows clothes, beauty products, and more. When she grew up, Kate was disappointed to find that her mom had gotten rid of all of the clothes she'd admired as a kid. "Mom is really good at purging and not keeping anything," she said. "So she kept none of her old clothes, and when I got older, I was like, 'Where are those Elia pumps, Mom? Where did you put all of those amazing dresses you wore?' And Mom's like, 'I don't know.'"

To make up for it, Kate plans to save her favourite outfits and give them to Rani on her 16th birthday. "It's the opposite of Mom," she says. "I have everything. I was looking through some of the archives, and I said, when Rani is 16 and opens up this box, I'm going to live through her." For now, Kate and Rani will continue to "work out" together, aka dance around the living room, and enjoy each other's exquisite taste in footwear.
