Katy Perry is opening up about her pregnancy now that the news is officially out. The singer first announced that she was expecting with fiancé Orlando Bloom via her otherworldly music video for "Never Worn White" on March 4. In a SiriusXM Hits 1 interview that same day, Katy spoke about the exciting life update, which she confirmed was planned. "Well, it wasn't an accident," she said.

"We were both looking forward to this new interval of life."

Katy said the decision to conceive came after feeling content with what she had accomplished in her professional life. "I'm so grateful for everything that I have been able to do and achieve, and all the goals I've been able to kind of check off my list of dreams, and the life I've lived thus far," Katy said. "I think I've just been trying to create this space in my own life where I'm not running myself too ragged, and creating space for something new to happen like this. I think we were both looking forward to this new interval of life and sharing this. That's kind of how it happens."

In addition to praising working moms — and sharing how her own mom inadvertently ruined her pregnancy reveal — Katy also touched on pregnancy cravings. As it turns out, not too much has changed: "That's why nobody really knew of anything because I've always been hungry, and I've never liked crunches. So, they just thought I was curvy and hungry. And yes, I am curvy and hungry." Listen to all the interview snippets ahead.
