Doug Emhoff's Ex-Wife Cheered on Their Kids While Attending the Presidential Inauguration
There's coparenting, and then there's attending Inauguration Day as your ex-husband's wife is sworn in as Vice President of the United States. On Jan. 20, the entire country tuned in to witness President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris take an oath and start the next chapter in history. While we gawked over the fashion, the fist bumps, and even the sneakers of some family members, one person in the crowd was beaming with pride a few rows back from her children, and that was Kerstin Emhoff. The ex-wife of Doug Emhoff, the current second husband, attended the presidential inauguration with her kids and was so proud to be there.
Doug and Kerstin were married from 1992 to 2008 and share two children together: 26-year-old Cole and 21-year-old Ella. Both have been open about their incredibly close blended family, but we have to admire the relationships they all share. In a profile with Elle last year, Kamala said that she and Kerstin are great friends and that she's "an incredible mother." "We sometimes joke that our modern family is almost a little too functional," she added. It was so special to see Kerstin at the inauguration supporting her family.
