Attention, parents: Lowe's recently announced it's rolling out a free curbside pickup event on Oct. 22 and 29 that will help families celebrate Halloween safely. And given the Centre For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)'s guidelines that advise against traditional trick-or-treating, the event seems like an incredible compromise for kiddos itching to get in on the festivities.
"Lowe's is celebrating Halloween in a new way this year by launching drive-through curbside trick-or-treating events at all stores nationwide on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29," the brand said in a Twitter announcement.
"We know that customers still want to celebrate Halloween, even if the holiday may look different for us this year. While the pandemic has changed many elements of everyday life, the tradition of trick-or-treating doesn't have to be one of them," said Joe McFarland, Lowe's executive vice president of stores, in a press release. "Our associates take great pride in serving our communities, and as we all find new ways to safely celebrate the holiday, we look forward to welcoming families to our drive-through curbside trick-or-treating events this year."
Families who register for the event can head over to their closest Lowe's location between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time to participate in curbside trick-or-treating and receive a small pumpkin; a fair warning, however, that according to the CDC, this type of trick-or-treating still carries a moderate risk, as it's an outdoor public gathering.
