Mandy Moore is a mama! The This Is Us star announced the birth of her and husband Taylor Goldsmith's first child, a baby boy, on Feb. 23, and we love his name: August Harrison Goldsmith. "He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents," Mandy wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her son. "We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined."
The name August, which has Latin origins and translates to "great" or "magnificent," has been in the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 names of the year since it began collecting data in 1900. Most recently, in 2019, August was the 167th most popular name for boys. Plus, it comes with a bunch of cute nicknames, like Gus and Auggie (the former was already used by Mandy in her announcement post!).
August's middle name, Harrison, is even more popular, landing at a ranking of the 112th most popular namein 2019. It's unclear as to whether August or Harrison carries meaning for the couple, but dang, does August Harrison Goldsmith flow, or what?
