Hear the Nickname Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Gave Archie

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Nickname For Archie Has a Deeper Meaning Than You Think!

In case you missed it: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor officially turned 1 on May 6! And in a sweet video shared by Save With Stories on Instagram, the newly minted 1-year-old Archie can be seen listening to his mom, Meghan Markle, read the book Duck! Rabbit! Although we loved seeing him help turn the pages and hearing Prince Harry in the background, we also zeroed-in on the fact that Meghan used the nickname "Arch."

Sure, it may seem like a natural way to shorten Archie's name, but according to Meghan and Harry, there's a more profound meaning behind the nickname.

"Before SussexRoyal came the idea of 'arche' — the Greek word meaning 'source of action,'" E! news reported last month. "We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son's name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. . . We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right."

We love a good baby name backstory! Happy birthday, Archie! Has time flown, or what?
