Rupert Grint Says Apple TV+'s Servant Is the "Worst Show to Be a Part of" Now That He's a Dad

Filming Apple TV+'s psychological thriller series, Servant, has certainly taken on new meaning for Rupert Grint now that he's a dad [1]. In a recent interview with Comicbook.com [2], the 32-year-old father explained that Servant's dark storyline has become a bit harder to digest since he and his longtime girlfriend, Georgia Groome, welcomed their daughter, Wednesday, into the world [3] this past May.

"I think it's probably the worst show to be a part of if you've just become a dad," the Harry Potter [4] alum joked. "It really isn't a good advert for becoming a parent. And kind of an even more [strange thing] was the fact that — because we filmed this season in kind of two halves really, because of the pandemic — I had the baby during the kind of down period when we were in lockdown and came back with the baby for the for the second part. It's very strange."

Now that Rupert's a father, he's found relating to the characters of Dorothy and Sean — who are grappling with the death of their child — to be easier. "It definitely has kind of changed my perspective on things, but also in a helpful way. It was something I never really had much of an idea of, that kind of love; it's a very different love, and kind of getting into the headspace of Dorothy and the grief, what it means to lose a child, is kind of unimaginable and kind of hones in on that kind of, you would do anything to get your child back. So yeah, it's definitely helped in some ways."
