Watch Shaq Try to Entertain Dwyane Wade's Daughter, Kaavia

Shaq Tried to Entertain Kaavia James Via Video Chat, but She Was Wholly Unimpressed

Shaquille O'Neal is a cuddly teddy bear at heart, but not one that all babies are entertained by, evidently. Case in point: the retired basketball star tried his darnedest to make Dwyane Wade's daughter, Kaavia, crack a smile during a recent video chat, but the notoriously unimpressed 1-year-old was decidedly not having it.

Here's a quick recap of the hysterical interaction: on Tuesday, Dwyane and Shaq joined WNBA player Candace Parker and Bleacher Report host Adam Lefkoe for a special live-streamed edition of NBA on TNT. Before the group dove in to talk about the NBA hiatus amid the coronavirus pandemic, baby Kaavia crashed the interview and sat on her dad's lap. The show guests took turns attempting to grab Kaavia's attention, and Candace's rendition of "Baby Shark" garnered a smile from her, naturally.

Shaq, on the other hand, took a slightly different approach, spewing out a string of garbled baby talk after saying "I'm gonna kiss you on your cheeky" in a sing-song voice. Despite Shaq's overexaggerated facial expressions and repeated "la la las," Kaavia remained wholly unfazed, whereas Dwyane struggled to keep it together behind her, hiding in his shirt to mask his laughter. They don't call her "shady baby" for nothing! Watch the LOL-worthy moment unfold starting at the 4:50-mark in the video above.
