If we can agree on anything right now, it's that virtual learning [1] has come with some major adjustments to our routine. And while it's easy to get frustrated with Zoom mishaps and constant screen time, a mom from California named Deb Plafker — aka Principal Mom — is making the most of having a 17-year-old high school senior at home.
With the help of her daughter, Jamie, Deb has been filming hilarious morning announcements for her son Max and sharing them on TikTok [2], and yep, he just looks thrilled. Between her clever concepts and spot-on delivery, we honestly can't help but laugh.
"We just base each video on things that have actually happened or things that we know other families are going through."
"Principal Mom started when my brother had his first day of his senior year online," she told POPSUGAR. "When he came down for lunch that day, my mom and I were making a bunch a jokes about how the bell was going to go off soon and how he only had three minutes left to get back to 'class.' From there, I was like, 'This is a great TikTok idea,' and that's when we filmed the first video! So far, it's really blown up."
Although Deb and Jamie have filmed a slew of funny clips already, there's apparently no shortage of inspiration. "We just base each video on things that have actually happened or things that we know other families are going through," she explained. "Honestly, the ideas are endless!"
