Tom Hanks [1] is the one of the most decorated and beloved actors of all time, and he's also a husband, grandfather, and father of four. The two-time Oscar winner has played everyone from Walt Disney [2] (Saving Mr. Banks) and Mister Rogers [3] (A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood) to war heroes (Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump) and Woody the pull-string cowboy rag doll (the Toy Story series).
Hanks had his oldest two children, Colin and Elizabeth, with his first wife, Samantha Lewes, whom he divorced in 1987 (she later died in 2002). Hanks, 64, thanked his family in an emotional speech earlier this year [5] when he was honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Award [6] at the Golden Globes. Colin Hanks
Tom's oldest child is also his most famous. That's because, like his dad, Colin Hanks [7], born Nov. 24, 1977, is an actor, producer, and director. The 43-year-old star — whose mom is Tom's first wife, Samantha Lewes — is known for starring in films such as Orange County, King Kong, The House Bunny, and the Jumanji series [8]. His breakout role was in the TV series Roswell back in 1999. In 2014, his role as Officer Gus Grimly in the television series Fargo got him nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award. Colin has been married to his wife, Samantha Bryant, since 2010. They have two children.
Elizabeth Hanks
Tom's second child and only daughter, Elizabeth Hanks, was born on May 17, 1982. The 38-year-old is a writer whose work has appeared in The Guardian, The New York Times, and Time. According to her Twitter bio [9], she is working on a book. And though she's not an actress, per se, she does have a handful of professional credits on her IMBD profile. In 1994, she played "school bus girl" in Forrest Gump; in 1996, she is credited as playing the role of "bored girl in dress shop" in That Thing You Do!
Chester "Chet" Hanks
Chet Hanks, born Aug. 4, 1990, is the son of Tom and his second wife, Rita Wilson. The 30-year-old is an actor and rapper. According to his IMDB profile [10], he has had recurring roles on the television shows Shameless [11],Your Honour, and Empire. Chet is also dad to daughter Michaiah, who was born in 2016.
Truman Theodoure Hanks
The youngest of the Hanks clan, Truman Hanks was born on Dec. 26, 1995 to Tom and Rita. Truman keeps a much lower profile than his siblings and keeps his social media accounts private. Although he hasn't spent time on camera, he has spent time behind it. Truman has worked as a production assistant and cinematographer on movies including Black Widow and Charlie's Angels.
