Uno is one of those games that can be found in almost any classroom, library, junk drawer, or at pretty much every board game night, and now the classic card game can be played by even more people. In partnership with Target and the National Federation of the Blind, Mattel has created the first official Uno deck featuring braille — the tactile writing system for people who are visually impaired — to make the game more accessible to the more than seven million blind and low-vision Americans in the US, according to a press release.

"Uno Braille is doing more than making this beloved game more accessible," said Mark Riccobono, president of the National Federation of the Blind. "It's also helping promote the importance and normalcy of braille by putting it in places people might not expect, and integrating it into the play of blind children. The fact that a blind person is now able to play a classic game of Uno straight out of the box with both blind and sighted friends or family members is a truly meaningful moment for our community."

Set up exactly like a traditional Uno game, all of the original cards are included in a pack and now feature braille on the corner of each card to indicate its colour, number, or action. The packageing even features braille on the front and back to make identifying the game in stores easier. Braille readable file instructions for the game can also be found on UnoBraille.com or can be accessed via Amazon Alexa and Google Home. So when's your next board game night?
