Just because Chris Evans plays Captain America [1] in the movies doesn't necessarily mean that his superpowers translate into real life! While doing an interview for The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon [2], he shamelessly explained how he recently botched his rescue dog Dodger [3]'s haircut at home [4], and we feel seen.
"I had done it once before, right when quarantine began," explained Chris. "I gave him just a little bit of a trim, just with a little bit of timidity. And it went great, and so I got a little confident and put on a shorter attachment, and it just exploded in my face! And I kept trying to fix it, and eventually, I was like, alright, I just gotta cut my losses." (Pun intended?)
To help people avoid making the same mistake he did, the 38-year-old actor encouraged fellow pet owners to only get out the clippers after their pup is good and tired, like right after a walk. "You gotta go with the hair," he said. "You don't go against it. But then the next time I did it, it was first thing in the morning, and he had a lot of energy, and he kept — as you're bringing the clippers down — he kept twisting his body, and the skin would crunch up." Of course, Dodger had absolutely no clue what was going on. Ah, to be a dog!
