Crazy About Love Island? Here's Where to Stay In Majorca

Hotel Salvia is nestled into the Sóller Mountains and it is a treat of a place to stay. The pool is perfection and has the most beautiful views, but the real draw is actually the gorgeous tiled suites that feel like they're lifted straight from an interiors magazine. They can be very expensive — a few hundred Euros a night — and some book well in advance, but if you're booking last-minute you'll get a very good deal.

Majorca might be known for its party atmosphere, but it's also got a few pockets of quiet and one of those is the Hotel Son Ametler in Moscari, in the northwest of the island. It's a real foodie destination — everything is fresh and you'll be treated to a four-course meal every evening. Amazingly, prices start at just £87 a night.

Ignore the super cheesy name for a moment, because Bikini Island is actually a good hotel option if there's a group of you that can't decide between parties and hangovers or exploring and having adventures. The hotel is in Port de Sóller, a gorgeous and petite beach that's reached from the airport via a tram and a wooden tourist train through the mountains (taxis are available, but where's the fun in that?). It's a luxury resort that doesn't feel like a cookie cutter experience. Rooms start at £125 a night.

The dream holiday set up is definitely pool + beach and Hotel Espléndido really delivers on that front. There are actually three pools to choose from: one indoor, one large heated pool, and a smaller one that has uninterrupted views of the horseshoe bay, and is adults only. You pay for the good stuff, though: in high season the cheapest sea view room is still £275 a night.

Fancy shacking up in a 17th Century mansion for a week? Gran Hotel Son Net is, to put it frankly, completely lush. Think grand suites, beautiful decor, marbled bathrooms. The surrounding area of Puigpunyent is beautifully green, but you can shut out the sun by hiring a poolside cabana for an afternoon snooze. One last thing to entice your fancy self: you can hire the hotel's plane for a trip to the Guggenheim in Bilbao. In high season, a suite will set you back nearly a grand, but go a little off season and you can bag a garden view room for as little as £170 per night.

There are only 11 rooms at Hotel Ca'n Verdera, so this is the perfect spot for privacy and catching up on all of those excellent beach read you've been piling up. Breakfast comes with freshly squeezed orange juice made with oranges picked straight from the valley the hotel is nestled in, but you're near the small town of Fornalutx which has some excellent restaurants. Rooms can cost as little as £125 a night and you're only 40 minutes from the airport, too. This island life really is peachy.

You'll need to book very early to bag a room at Ca's Xorc Hotel, such is its popularity (with celebrities and wedding parties, not just us). Food is the focus of this former olive mill and you'll be treated to beautiful fresh breakfasts on a terrace overlooking the valleys, and a six-course tasting menu for dinner if you book in advance (otherwise it's four courses, so you'll definitely eat well). Come here to get away from it all, but make sure one of you is driving so you can really explore the island. The cheapest rooms are around £200 a night.

For a hotel that's right in the thick of it, look no further than Sant Francesc Hotel Singular. Smack bang in the centre of Palma, with a rooftop terrace pool that will have you scrabbling for your passport in seconds, this hotel is a seriously chic way to experience Majorca's most popular holiday destination. You won't get much change from £350 a night, whatever time of year you go.

Another hotel in Palma, this time Hotel Portixol, which is right on the harbour of the city. The hotel has bicycles that you can borrow to whizz around the coast, a spa and a bar that gets very lively at night. With rooms from £147 per night, this is a really good hotel choice for a week away with the girls. One of the biggest draws for Palma is its proximity to the airport - you're just 20 minutes away - so you can spend the last day of your holiday soaking up some last-minute rays instead of sitting in the back of a taxi for hours.
