Instagram Just Launched a Handy New Feature For Sharing Your 2021 Memories

We've all seen those countless "what a year" Stories on Instagram. You know, the ones that we begrudgingly tap through year after year, as we relive not only our own annual memories, but everyone else's too (no matter how many Stories they put up). Well, this year Instagram is helping us to relive our 2021 memories in a much more efficient way, thanks to a shiny new feature called Playback. The new feature will exist inside Instagram Stories, and it'll give us all a chance to reflect on the year we've had and the highlights we've shared, by allowing us to share up to 10 Stories and highlights that summed up our year.

While it's not too far off from manually selecting 10 of our favourite images and resharing them on Stories, it does make the selection process a whole lot easier because Instagram does the hard work for you. Launching on the app on 9 Dec for a limited run of a few weeks, the feature will prompt a message on each user's feed, inviting them to view their Playback that Instagram has curated for them, whilst giving them the option to add or remove Stories and highlights before posting them to their feeds. Seems pretty simple to us!
