Here's How to Easily Find the Request Folder on Instagram

Avoid Being Like T-Pain and Learn Where the Request Folder on Instagram Is Right Now

With the constant updates and changes the Instagram app goes through, it makes sense as to why people have a hard time navigating it. Figuring out how to find the Request Folder on Instagram has become a struggle for many people — T-Pain being one of them. Last week the world-famous rapper stumbled upon countless messages in his Request Folder from other celebrities, which led others to wonder if they were also accidentally ignoring messages and where to find them. If you haven't been able to find it before, that's because the notification is small and usually only pops up if you're already in your Direct Messages. If you need some help locating this hard-to-find folder, follow these steps:

  1. First, open the Instagram app.
  2. Slide over to your Direct Messages page.
  3. If you don't have any pending requests, you won't see anything, but if you do, you'll see "Requests" with the number of requests on the top right of the screen.
  4. Tap "Requests" and you'll see who sent you messages that didn't make it into your primary direct messages.

This folder is essentially like a filtration system so that people don't get bombarded with message requests from people they don't know or follow. The good part about the Requests Folder is that you can choose to either open the message, delete it, or block the person who sent it before they can see if you saw it or not. If it's a message you want to respond to, you can reply to it and it will go to your primary DM folder. Handy, right? We'll thank T-Pain for bringing this message folder to our attention.
