Mila Kunis Talks to Her Oz Costar James Franco For Interview Magazine

Mila Kunis covers the August issue of Interview, which will be on newsstands July 24.

Mila Kunis covers the August issue of Interview, which will be on newsstands July 24. She spoke with pal James Franco during a particularly busy work period. She wrapped up a promotional tour for Ted, and just started chatting up her and James's Oz: The Great and Powerful. In fact, Mila and Michelle Williams went to Comic-Con to chat up their new adaptation of the Wizard of Oz tale. Mila also spent time this Summer on the set of Guillaume Canet's new thriller, Blood Ties. Career was the focus of Mila and James's discussion, and she talked about the perks of being picky, Hollywood pressures, and her goals. Here are highlights from Mila Kunis in Interview:

  • On being able to be picky about her work: "Honestly, after doing a TV show [That '70s Show] for eight years and a cartoon [Family Guy] for more than a decade, you are, financially speaking, in a very lucky position where you don't have to work for the sake of working. And I decided to take advantage of that. I don't live lavishly, so it's not like I have 20 assistants and travel privately and shop every day. I actually live a very mediocre lifestyle. So I decided to step back and do things not just for the sake of doing them, but because I believe in them and I want to do them."
  • On her goal for five years from now: "Listen, in five years I do hope to have a family, and, you know, who knows? I think in this industry people have such a short shelf life, truly, that I don't know what I'm going to be in five years in regards to acting. I mean, I'd love to produce. I can't form a sentence or write an email, so I know I'm definitely not going to go and become a writer, but I would love to explore other facets of this industry, for sure."
  • On dealing with the pressures of Hollywood: "To be honest, I don't deal with it well. I can't tell you that I'm like, 'Oh, I'm so great at dealing with it. It's in one ear and out the other!' That would be complete and utter bullsh*t. But I take it for what it's worth. Sometimes I let it get to me — I have internal dialogues with myself all day long."

Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis Team Up to Talk Oz at Comic-Con

Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis teamed up yesterday for a panel promoting their Oz: The Great and Powerful at Comic-Con.

Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis teamed up yesterday for a panel promoting their Oz: The Great and Powerful at Comic-Con. They're in San Diego along with the picture's director, Sam Raimi, to discuss their Wizard of Oz adaptation before it hits theaters next March. Michelle wore a printed Giulietta for the occasion, while Mila paired a Theyskens' Theory jacket with a Rag & Bone shirt.

After posing for pictures, the trio took the stage to speak about their project. In particular, Michelle talked about her experience with Sam. She said, "I've never made such a big movie before. I didn't know what it was going to be like. I didn't know if the things that concern me, Sam would have time for, or patience for. Not only did he have time and patience in the beginning when we were rehearsing, he had patience for them on the 17th hour of the sixth day. For me it was a very holistic experience; it was a real melding of my work life and my personal life. My film family and my real family." Make sure to check out what else Mila, Michelle, and Sam said at the Oz: The Great and Powerful Comic-Con panel — including what Michelle says about a Dawson's Creek reunion! Jennifer and Johnny, Twilight and Hunger Games — Highlights From the MTV Movie Awards

Russell Brand opened yesterday's MTV Movie Awards in his typical irreverent manner.

Russell Brand opened yesterday's MTV Movie Awards in his typical irreverent manner. Bouncing from one off-color celebrity topic to another, he finally said, "Wait until you hear what I have to say about short-lived celebrity marriages!" Russell, who filed for divorce from Katy Perry last December after 14 months of marriage, went on to thank Kim Kardashian, whose own 72-day union "took a lot of pressure off me." Russell went on to give a lewd shout-out to his former schoolmate Michael Fassbender and even rile up the rivalry between Hunger Games and Twilight fans.

Ted's Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg were the first to present, handing off the best dirtbag honor to none other than Jennifer Aniston. There was some unscripted drama, though, when Mark came to Mila's defense after an audience member made a rude comment. Further love went to best male and female performers Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence of The Hunger Games. Kristen Stewart and her Snow White and the Huntsman costar Chris Hemsworth presented the latter to an absent Jennifer, who's making a movie in Prague.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart managed to snag their fourth consecutive best kiss award for the Twilight series, but since he wasn't at the show, she accepted it solo. Kristen jokingly called up her SWATH costars Chris and Charlize Theron, and even asked for help from Taylor Lautner. Then saying, "That's OK, I do pretty well by myself," Kristen wrapped her arms around herself and pretended to be making out with someone.

Aerosmith's Joe Perry and Steven Tyler were on hand to give the 2012 Generation Award to Johnny Depp. Johnny accepted by accompanying The Black Keys for a musical number. With his daughter, Lily-Rose, in the audience, Johnny thanked his fans for the "amazing honor." Another big prize went to Emma Stone, this year's Trailblazer. She gave a heartfelt acceptance speech thanking her own idols and urging young people to try and be their true, unique selves.

Emma also did a stint on stage with her The Amazing Spider-Man costar Andrew Garfield, and they were followed by Prometheus's Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron. Total Recall's Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel handed off the golden popcorn for best cast to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 gang, which was represented by Emma Watson. Magic Mike hotties Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum were interrupted by their shirtless costar Joe Manganiello when presenting best transformation to The Hunger Games' Elizabeth Banks.

Before the best picture was crowned, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Christian Bale gave a sneak peek at The Dark Knight Rises. Finally, Breaking Dawn Part Two was deemed movie of the year, with Kristen, Taylor, and their costars taking the stage to say thanks. Make sure to check out all the MTV Movie Awards winners.

Jennifer Garner, James Franco, Mila Kunis, and Johnny Depp were among the stars who stepped out for the Walt Disney Studios CinemaCon event in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening.

Jennifer Garner, James Franco, Mila Kunis, and Johnny Depp were among the stars who stepped out for the Walt Disney Studios CinemaCon event in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening. It was Jennifer Garner's first event since giving birth to Samuel, her first son with husband Ben Affleck, at the end of February. She also celebrated her 40th birthday earlier this month and was looking fantastic on the red carpet in Dolce&Gabbana. James Franco and Mila Kunis were both out to start promoting Oz: the Great and Powerful. Mila is currently the center of attention since she's rumored to be dating Ashton Kutcher, who was her costar on That '70s Show. Ashton and Mila reportedly spent a romantic weekend together recently, but their reps denied they were a couple. Johnny Depp was out to represent Dark Shadows, which is coming up right around the corner, hitting theaters on May 11.

Ted Trailer: Mark Wahlberg Has a Bong-Loving Bear BFF

The trailer for Ted starts off like a typical romantic comedy: there's a meet-cute between John (Mark Wahlberg) and Lori (Mila Kunis), they fall in love, "Sweet Disposition" plays, etc.

The trailer for Ted starts off like a typical romantic comedy: there's a meet-cute between John (Mark Wahlberg) and Lori (Mila Kunis), they fall in love, "Sweet Disposition" plays, etc. There's some trouble in paradise though, and it comes in the form of Ted, John's real-life childhood Teddy, who also happens to be his best friend. This isn't one of those invisible BFFs (a la Drop Dead Fred) either; everyone can see Ted as he smokes weed, works in a grocery store, and makes inappropriate gestures.

Ted kind of reminds me of Brian from Family Guy, which isn't too surprising considering Seth MacFarlane writes, directs, and lends his voice to Ted. (The fact that Ted sounds like Peter Griffin is a bit distracting). The trailer could definitely be worse, but didn't have me laughing out loud either; I cant help but think that maybe Kunis is only in this as a favor to MacFarlane (since they do Family Guy together), though that still doesn't explain Wahlberg's involvement.
