Many fashionable Hollywood celebrities turned up the glamour at last night's amfAR Gala at NYC's Cipriani 42nd Street. The event, which helps kick off New York Fashion Week, was full of designers and celebs in stylish gowns. Ashley Greene wore a white Giambattista Valli frock while Sarah Jessica Parker went for a daring Maison Martin Margiela Couture pink dress. Honoree Heidi Klum donned a black Michael Kors number, which she wore when she chatted with the designer and her former Project Runway costar on the red carpet.

Other guests included Cheyenne Jackson, Chloë Sevigny, couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, who dazzled in a dramatic Zac Posen gown. Of course, the night wasn't only about fashion — the amfAR Gala benefits AIDS research and honors those who have made significant contributions towards the fight against the deadly disease. In addition to Heidi, designer Kenneth Cole and Janet Jackson were honored for their work with the organization.

Kim Kardashian hosted a bash at Las Vegas's 1 Oak nightclub last night. She was joined by boyfriend Kanye West and her mom Kris Jenner as well as pals Brittny Gastineau, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen. Kim and Kanye had even more than just the New Year to celebrate since they announced over the weekend that they're expecting their first child together. It doesn't look like Kim's pregnancy has slowed her down since she's been on the go in recent days. She traveled to Atlantic City, where Kanye performed, and then headed back to LA yesterday before making her first public appearance in Sin City since the exciting news. Kim shared that she hasn't had any morning sickness, adding, "People always say it's easy and fun. It's definitely an adjustment, learning about your body and stuff like that. I've been feeling really good, so that's good."

Last night's White House State Dinner, hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in honor of visiting British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha, was a star-studded affair. George Clooney brought out a tuxedo for the occasion, after testifying about his experiences in Sudan and South Sudan to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee earlier in the day. Homeland star Damian Lewis arrived with his wife Helen McCrory while Sir Richard Branson also posed for photographs on his way into the event. John Legend was on hand as a performer, but also enjoyed the dinner with fiancé Chrissy Teigen, who tweeted pictures throughout the evening, including one shot of John's shirt after he spilled on himself. The other musical entertainment came from Mumford & Sons since David and Samantha are apparently fans of the British band. The philanthropic celebration signals the start of Milan's Fashion Week and brought out a mix of designers, models, and stars. Guests were entertained with a duet from John Legend and Raphael Saadiq of Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amore." John was accompanied by girlfriend Chrissy Teigen, who watched from the crowd while he auctioned off two private performances that raised nearly $400,000 Euros for AIDS research. Heidi also took the stage to present Kenneth Cole with an award and later dined with friends and her Project Runway costar Nina Garcia. Lindsay Lohan made an appearance and posed for photos with Margherita Missoni and brothers Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared. Demi Moore was without her other half, Ashton Kutcher, though he did twitter about being in the Big Apple earlier in the day. Ashton has been busy with rehearsals for Two and a Half Men, though he also made time to stop by the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. John Legend looked dapper as usual as he made his way into yesterday evening's event at Cipriani. Jennifer also brought her sister Lynda along for the charitable soiree and from there the international star is headed to Europe for more promotional duties on behalf of her album. Now that American Idol is done for the season, Jennifer can focus on her other ventures from her fragrances to her music as well as the Latin singing competition, Q'Viva the Chosen, that she and Marc are working on.

Mario Testino was the guest of honor last night at a gala thrown by the Latin American museum El Museo de Barrio at NYC's Cipriani restaurant. Kate Winslet, who just worked with Mario on a new round of ads for Lancôme, introduced the photographer and presented him with a silver Asprey tray that had been signed by friends like Sienna Miller, Julia Roberts, and Demi Moore. The Narciso Rodriguez-clad actress started with a joke, saying, "The two other Kates, Kate Moss and Kate Middleton, were unavailable so you have to make do with me." Mario, who confessed that his favorite person he ever worked with was Princess Diana, spoke for the first time about lensing Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement pictures. He said of the shoot, "You know, it's not so much what they say to each other because there is no time. Everything is compacted into a very short time because we have to produce these pictures. It's more like me screaming and trying to get everything to go — well, not screaming, but getting in a fluster, I guess you say . . . They are a young couple in love." Affection was in the air for John Legend and Chrissy Teigen as well as fellow attendee Josh Hartnett, who hung out with his girlfriend, Sophia Lie, when he wasn't catching up with fashion heavyweights like Anna Wintour and Donatella Versace.

The annual White House Correspondents' Dinner brought celebrities and the media stars who love them to the White House in Washington DC on Saturday night. Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn were inseparable after the event, but she first walked the red carpet with her brother Hunter. Other couples were more comfortable posing before the cameras, with Jon Hamm cozying up to Jennifer Westfeldt, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer sticking together, and Paul Rudd making the rounds with wife Julie when not chilling with Parks and Recreation funny girls Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones. Salma Hayek also had her husband Francois-Henri Pinault on hand, and Chace Crawford tagged along with sister Candice and her fiancé Tony Romo. The Vampire Diaries duo Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder made the rounds, as Mila Kunis made one half of an interesting pair with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Seth Meyers was the evening's emcee, but it was President Obama who stole the show. The president hit back at critics like Donald Trump and even Matt Damon, who recently expressed disappointment with the administration. Obama said of Damon, "I've even let down my key core constituency: movie stars. Just the other day, Matt Damon — I love Matt Damon, love the guy —  Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw The Adjustment Bureau, so. . . .right back atcha, buddy."

Miranda Kerr was a special surprise guest last night at Victoria's Secret's party to celebrate the launch of its new SWIM collection at LA's Club L with music from DJ Solange Knowles. Miranda posed on the pink carpet alongside Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, and Candice Swanepoel, who were all together in swimsuits and bikinis earlier in the day showing off the line. Now that Miranda's son Flynn is almost 3 months old, she's back with the lingerie retailer after a pregnancy hiatus. Her last appearance with her fellow Angels was about one year ago, though she did some other modeling with her baby bump, like a nude shoot for W. She famously hit the runway for Balenciaga last September, then showed her loyalty to the French company by making her postbaby catwalk return for them a few weeks ago during Paris Fashion Week. Yesterday's event was Victoria's Secret's latest star-studded event, as it brought out other fans of the brand like Kim Kardashian and John Legend.

Celebrities came out in full force for the NBA All-Star weekend at the Staples Center in LA. Things kicked off on Friday night with Modern Family's Ty Burrell and Oscar performer Zachary Levi in the stands for the rookie challenge. Ty was back with his wife, Holly, to check out Saturday night's event. John Legend and his girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen, were also on hand to watch the evening's performance by Cee-Lo Green, and they kept the fun going at an afterparty thrown by LeBron James and Jay-Z. Kellan Lutz made an appearance during a break from filming Breaking Dawn, and Glee's Jenna Ushkowitz rocked her Lakers jersey to support the West Coast team. The big winners at last night's Grammys headed into the press room after accepting their honours at the star-studded show. Matt Bellamy proudly showed off his gold after accepting best rock album with Muse and making sure to thank pregnant girlfriend Kate Hudson. Justin Bieber didn't have a statue of his own, but he was celebrating his film Never Say Never's box office success.
