The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards is over, which can only mean one thing: you're about to fill up your autumn mood board with hair and makeup inspiration. "Saturday Night Live" star Kenan Thompson hosted the occasion alongside a stacked list of presenters like Selena Gomez, Amy Poehler, and Kerry Washington, plus attendees from all of the hottest shows from the last year turned up.

If you recall last year's red carpet, celebrities brought their A-game in the beauty department — from Elizabeth Olson's Grace Kelly-esque bob to Yara Shahidi's abstract nail look — and this year is no different. So far we've seen a dark twist on the french manicure from Issa Rae, major hair colour changes from Lily James and Sophie Thatcher, a retro updo from Elle Fanning, and so much more. And this is on the beginning.

Though the night has only just begun, keep scrolling to see the best hair, makeup, and nail looks from the 2022 Emmy Awards.

Lily James's Copper Hair Colour

Just two months after going Pamela Anderson blonde, the "Pam & Tommy" actor stepped out with a brand-new copper hair colour that matched her glimmering Emmys dress. Makeup artist Sofia Tilbury used Charlotte Tilbury to match her glow-up to her makeup.

HoYeon Jung's Middle-Part Hair Accessory

The perfect addition to Jung's wispy bangs and blunt bob haircut was her pale pink middle-part barrette.

Elle Fanning's Flipped-Under Updo

Every inch of Fanning's beauty look was decidedly retro, from her flipped-under pin curls to her 60s-inspired cat-eye.

Issa Rae's Black French Manicure

In addition to the next-level glow courtesy of the TikTok viral E.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Liquid Filter, Rae debuted a nail look that combined two of the biggest trends of the moment: the french manicure and "black glam" nails.

Sophie Thatcher's Black Bob Haircut

The "Yellowjackets" actor stepped out in what is perhaps the edgiest transformation of the night, with a new bob haircut in a jet-black shade. Makeup artist Rob Rumsey said this new hair transformation — as well as her Dior dress — was the inspiration behind her makeup look. "We wanted to go with 60s meets the 20s with a rock n' roll vibe," he tells POPSUGAR. "Accentuate her beautiful bone structure and her amazing eyes." Rumsey used all Dior Beauty makeup products.

Kerry Washington's Topknot

While Washington's topknot was sky-high and dramatic, her makeup look was intentionally minimalistic, says longtime makeup artist Carola Gonzalez. She used Neutrogena makeup products to create the look.

Sheryl Lee Ralph's Ponytail Crystals

Hair gems have been all the rage this season, but no one did it quite like Ralph. The Emmy award-winning actor was embellished from the tip of her ponytail all the way across the crown of her head, making sure to add a gem here and there across her eyelids.

Hannah Einbinder's Braided Bixie

The only thing more ethereal than Einbinder's glowy skin was her loosely braided bixie haircut.
