Having a hairstyle with bangs in the Summer can be both chic and stressful. The latter would be courtesy of the season's unpredictable humidity, causing the fringed hair framing your face to frizz or move out of place. Luckily, there are solutions to this common problem. For the days when it seems like the Summer weather is working against you, we've enlisted the help of celebrity hairstylist Clayton Hawkins who has styled the hair of Aubrey Plaza, Kiernan Shipka, and Alison Brie to break down the art of wearing bangs in the Summer. From short and baby bangs to ones that drape over your face curtain-style, your hair look will stay cool all season thanks to the tips ahead.

Hair accessories are one of 2019's standout beauty trends. Hawkins suggests using a barrette to tame bangs in the Summer. "Invest in a nice hair accessory, and rock it all Summer — pushing your hair to the side," he said.

Hawkins suggests a clever way to style your bangs when the weather is hot and humid. "Braid your bangs back into a chic little twist, and secure with bobby pins," he said. "That way, your hair is out of your face."

The braid can trail across your hairline, as shown, or even trail along your part if the hair is long enough.

Dry shampoo can do more than just revive second-day hair; it can also spruce up bangs that didn't hold up during your Summer adventures. "If you wear them down and they get sweaty, keep a sample size of dry shampoo in your purse, and spray accordingly throughout the day," said Hawkins. We like the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo Mini ($14).
