HoYeon Jung just revealed the perfect haircut inspiration for the heatwave currently rageing through the country. The actor and model posted a picture on Instagram, and her normally side-swept bangs were cut into blunt microbangs. The rest of Jung's hair was pulled back into a sleek bun, allowing her new fringe to take centre stage. Hairstylist Hye Young Lee gave Jung's bangs a wispy, effortless look, which emphasised her pared-back, "barely there" makeup.

Microbangs have been a staple since the '50s when they were first popularized by burlesque dancer Bettie Page, and they have since made their way into the mainstream. The bangs style is typically more blunt cut and falls somewhere between your brows and hairline. Though the cut can be worn by anyone, baby bangs are particularly flattering for round face shapes. "Soft, short bangs can actually open up the face and elongate it," Devin Toth, a hairstylist at NYC's Salon SCK, previously told POPSUGAR.
