34 Beauty Launches Our Editors Can’t Get Enough of This Month

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

For some people, the beginning of October marks the official countdown to Halloween. If you're a beauty aficionado, however, it also means one thing: new autumn beauty launches. Maybe it's the budding anticipation for festive releases or the extra time you're probably starting to spend indoors, but regardless, this season of beauty-product drops just hits differently.

With the colder months hovering just right around the corner, a common theme we're looking at can be summed up in one word: rich. From decadent body oils, pumpkin-scented candles, and hydrating hair and face creams, there's something comforting about refreshing your beauty routine and cabinet this season. Should you also be an early bird, you can even get a head start on your festive shopping and beat the crowds. A win-win.

To help make the narrowing-down process easier, POPSUGAR beauty editors have tried dozens (if not hundreds) of new product launches in order to recommend you the best of the best. If you're looking for a starting point, use this list to kick off your October beauty shopping. Keep reading ahead for the best new beauty launches this month.

Best Brow Gel

Glow Hub Freeze Pls Brow Sculpt (£12)

"I've always struggled to find a brow gel which keeps my brows sculpted all day long without the sticky residue, but that's a problem of the past thanks to the brand-new Glow Hub nxt gen makeup collection. The clear brow gel has a smooth, non-sticky consistency which has the power to last through even the heaviest of downpours (thanks English weather). I'm also giving it bonus points for including a spoolie and brush in the kit so I don't have to dig around my makeup bag to find an applicator." — Chloe Dunn, social content producer

Best Blush Stick

Glow Hub Buff Blush Stick (£12)

"One word: pigment. It feels like blush sticks are everywhere this year but I've always struggled to find one which has a good balance of pigment and shine. Another release I love from the Glow Hub nxt gen makeup collection, this Buff Blush Stick in peach tea is the perfect coral colour to compliment my fair skin. I can really feel the niacinamide and hyaluronic acid going to work, leaving it smooth and glowing on top of the nice pop of colour." — CD

Best Skin Tint

U Beauty SUPER Tinted Hydrator (£98)

"Most skin tints on the market promise an all-in-one solution to skincare and coverage but this product actually delivers it. It's lightweight, buildable, and breathable. Perfect if you're looking to achieve the minimalist trend this autumn." — CD

Best Serum Foundation

Shiseido RevitalEssence Skin Glow Foundation SPF 30 (£49)

"I'm a big (big, big) fan of foundations that don't really feel like foundation. I want something with sheer coverage and a weightless feel, and the Shiseido RevitalEssence Skin Glow Foundation SPF 30 delivers. The skin-care-first formula contains prebiotics and niacinamide to brighten and nourish skin. Meanwhile, micro-capsules of makeup pigment give you an even, healthy glow." — Jessica Harrington, beauty editor

Best Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Patrick Ta Major Dimension III Matte Eyeshadow Palette (£90)

"I'm usually not very good with eyeshadow and I don't know if it's the way this palette is laid out or the quality of the formula, but I have been creating some incredible eye looks with it. The shadows blend seamlessly and the colours last on the lid all day long — especially when I use the cream bases that come with it. Patrick Ta has done it again with the entire Major Moments collection." — AB

Best Self-Adhesive Face Gems

Half Magic Iridescent Sparkle Self-Adhesive Face Gems (£12)

"Feel like a "Euphoria" girly with these easy-to-use face gems. I took these gems for a spin at Beyoncé's Renaissance show, and I felt like a shimmery diva who would make Donna Summer proud." — Jada Gomez, executive editor

Best Loose Powder Blush

Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder Blush (£42)

"Let me start out by saying that loose powder blush is not something I thought I needed in my routine. Still, the way every single one of these colours looks good on my skin tone and offers the same blurring properties as its famous face powder has me addicted. I have all of them staked next to my makeup kit because I just rotate based on my mood." — AB

Best Plumping Lip Balm

The Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm (£11)

"If there's one product I'm always game to try, it's anything for my lips. I love chapstick, lip balms, glosses, and lipsticks, but my latest obsession has been lip plumpers. Sometimes though, the burn that comes with them can be a little intense, which is why I've been on the hunt for a product that plumps without the added spiciness. The Inkey List's Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm fits the bill and then some. It keeps my mouth hydrated all day long, gives me a nice glossy shine, and enhances my pout." — Renee Rodriguez, staff writer and social producer

Best Woody Perfume

KAYALI Oudgasm Vanilla Oud (£122)

"As we head into autumn, I like to swap my light summery fragrance for something a bit warmer and spicier. This year I'm reaching for KAYALI's new Oudgasm collection. While oud can be quite an overpowering smell, this scent perfectly balances earthy base notes with sweet and delicate top notes for a subtle yet rich scent." — CD

Best Sweet Perfume

Dolce & Gabbana Devotion Eau de Parfum (£124)

"This fragrance is truly unique. The notes of orange blossom immediately hit your senses upon first sprat, bursting with candied sweetness. The layer of citrusy lemon on top adds a freshness that when mixed with the warmth of the vanilla base note makes it perfect for autumn." — CD

Best Dewy Foundation

Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation ($34)

"I finally got the chance to try the Glossier foundation and it definitely lives up to the hype. I consider it to be medium, buildable coverage and it leaves the most gorgeous dewy sheen behind. It feels very in line with the brand's no-makeup makeup philosophy, except I get the coverage that I want for my acne-scarred skin. A win-win." — AB

Best Colour Corrector

Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Under Eye Colour Corrector (£26)

"I never thought that it would be important for a colour corrector to be full coverage but the moment I put this one on, I understood. It's the perfect orange shade for tan to deep skin and it covers like a concealer. I've been loving using it under my foundation over the past few weeks." — AB

Best Lip Gloss Oil

Glossybounce High-Shine Hydrating Lip Gloss Oil (£18)

"I'm a big gloss girl and will admit that I have approximately 7 different ones in my purse at all times (I'm not exaggerating in the slightest). That said, despite having tried many, many formulas, the Glossybounce High-Shine Hydrating Lip Gloss Oil still blew me away. The texture is so thick and luxurious, it coats my lips in hydration and delivers a high-shine finish that isn't sticky. I love the sheer wash of colour it gives your lips and how it feels on." — JH

Best Face Palette

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette (£86)

"When it comes to face palettes, Hourglass has the game on lock, especially if you prefer a luminous, not dewy, look. As it does every year, it came out with the six-pan holiday palettes recently and I've been using the Snake shade, which is the deepest one. From finishing powder to the blush and highlighter, every single pan gets used. They all leave behind this ethereal glow on my face that is just stunning." — AB

Best Brow Gel

Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel (£18)

"What I absolutely love about the Rare Beauty Brow Gel is that it offers a long-lasting hold but isn't extremely crunchy. Yes, the mega-crunch is usually the tradeoff for all-day wear but the brand seems to have cracked the code." — AB

Best Cream Eyeshadow

Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Liquid Metals (£22)

"At this point, I don't think there's ever a day that goes by where I don't use a Danessa Myricks product in my makeup look. My latest obsession has been the brand's new Colorfix liquid metal shades, particularly the colour Lilac Flame, a gorgeous silvery-y purple." — AB

Best Brown Mascara

Guerlain Noir G Volumizing & Curling Mascara (£32)

"Not only did this Guerlain product make me a fan of brown mascara again but the formula is next-level. As I do, I forgot that I had it on multiple times when wearing it and touched, rubbed, and tugged at my lashes. It doesn't budge one inch. 10/10 from me." — AB

Best Matte Lipstick

Armani Beauty Lip Power Long Lasting Lipstick (£35)

"I tried on a liquid lipstick the other day that immediately reminded me why it's so important to have comfort matte formulas on the market. I could practically feel my lips losing moisture the longer I kept it on, and it just underscored why I have been loving the Armani Lip Power line. The product glides on with zero tugging and it wears like a satin. If you're back in your matte-lipstick era, make a beeline for this one." — AB

Best Drugstore Lip Gloss

CoverGirl Clean Fresh Yummy Gloss (£15)

"The Yummy Gloss line is an absolute gem of a find in the drugstore and Covergirl just came out with the Daylight Collection. The shade Moonlight Eclipse has been my go-to and if you love deep, brown-toned nude lip glosses I definitely think this is worth adding to you collection." — AB

Best Barrier Support Serum

The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum (£17)

"Don't get me wrong: I love the fall. What I don't love is what it does to my skin. There's only a slight chill in the air and I can already feel my skin getting tight and dry. The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum is a new addition to the brand and is geared toward repairing your skin's barrier, reducing redness, and boosting hydrating. AKA everything I need right now. It fits seamlessly into any skin-care routine and has the most amazing naturally pink hue." — JH

Best Serum Sunscreen

RMS SuperNatural Radiance Serum SPF 30 Sunscreen (£44)

"Glowy, tinted sunscreens have been big for a while now, but I feel strongly that this is the first one to really, truly get it right. Here's why: it's hydrating enough that it can replace a moisturiser if your skin isn't overly dehydrated, it creates a pearlescent sheen but not like you accidentally plastered your face with highlighter, and although the tint is subtle — about half as much coverage as a tinted moisturiser — it definitely evens tone. Plus, it blends beautifully; five seconds of rubbing, and it's gone. It comes in three shades instead of one "universal" (which we all know is never cute), and I've been super happy with the sun protection even when running around outside on the weekends. I'm finally done testing glowy sunscreens; I found the one." — Dawn Davis, executive director, beauty

Best Serum Essence

Orveda The Omnipotent Concentrate (£385)

"The Orveda The Omnipotent Concentrate is pricy, but boy, is it good. The gel-like serum contains 16 different actives to soothe, replenish, repair, and protect your skin. It targets all signs of ageing, like dryness, fine lines, and dullness, and absorbs quickly, leaving behind a hydrated, cushy feel." — JH

Best Day Cream

Guerlain Abeille Royale Honey Treatment Day Cream (£122)

"The Oussant Island Black Bees are doing some of their best work with this product. It's cushion-y without being overly thick (a must for a daytime moisturiser), looks flawless under SPF and makeup, and is perfect for those mornings when you're feeling a bit dry and lackluster." — AK

Best Anti-Ageing Moisturiser

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti-Ageing Cream (£120)

"I swear by all things Beauty Pie, and this new cream ranks high in the winners' circle. Its rich texture is soothing for cooler fall nights; it makes my skin feel so luxurious after a long day. Run, don't walk, Beauty Pie fans." — JG

Best Eye Patches

Augustinus Bader The Eye Patches (£97)

"These eye patches have become such a surprising staple in my routine. They are cooling and deeply hydrating, thanks to the hyaluronic acid used in the formula, but more importantly, they don't give me any milia." — AB

Best Travel Moisturiser

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream Mini (£71)

"The Augustinus Bader Rich Cream really needs no introduction — what makes this particular version special is the TSA-friendly size. Like most people, the end of the year is filled with lots of airport time and time away from typical beauty routines. This mini size bottle means I never need to be without my Rich Cream." — AK

Best Lip Mask

Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask (£27)

"The Tatcha lip mask is already a staple for me but every year they come out with a new colour. This year it's the shade Wisteria, a gorgeous berry-toned purple that is perfect for fall and winter." — AB

Best Body Lotion

Herbivore Cloud Milk Coconut + Maca Firming Body Cream (£38)

"This body cream is the definition of THICK. It's like a dreamy whipped souffle — and smells good enough to eat, too. I especially like to use it after my nighttime bath so I can go to sleep smelling like a tropical holiday, and wake up with silky smooth skin." — AK

Best Apple Perfume

Ellis Brooklyn Apple Love Eau de Parfum (£119)

"I find most apple scents to be extremely cloying and hard to wear but this one from Ellis Brooklyn has just sprinted to the top of my favourites list. The apple note is apparent but it's tempered by additional notes of sugar cane and vanilla Madagascar, and smells more like a light gourmand scent than a sharp citrus. I love it." — AB

Best Oud Perfume

Byredo Rouge Chaotique (£250)

"There's nothing I love more than a Byredo scent, and the new Rogue Chaotique couldn't be more perfect. It has top notes of bergamot and lemon, as well as base notes of patchoud and heart notes of plum and praline. It's the perfect scent for going out at night — but only spritz it on if you're prepared to do a lot of talking with strangers — because the compliments won't stop rolling in." — RR

"It's safe to say that I am completely blown away by Rouge Chaotique. I am a crazy perfume oversprayer so hear me when I saw this one has beast-most level sillage. In fact, you likely only need two sprays when you wear it so this bottle will last you quite some time. It's slightly citrusy and syrupy but with a dark wood note that is simply divine. This is the perfume for when you're adulting heavily." — AB

Best Vanilla Perfume

Boy Smells Vanilla Era Eau de Parfum (£105)

"Sometimes, the idea of wearing a vanilla-scented perfume can make me feel like a basic b*tch. I mean, it doesn't get any more basic than vanilla, right? Wrong. The Boy Smells Vanilla Era Eau De Perfume is anything but. It has notes of vanilla, but top notes of white tulip, and it honestly smells like a freaking dream. It's long lasting, and just two spritzes will get me through the entire day." — RR

"Boy Smell's Vanilla Era is another one of those scents that surprised me big time. While I love a good vanilla, the addition of floral notes like white tulip made me nervous because I am not a floral perfume person. Still, this perfume is perfectly balanced and is somehow creamy and sweet but still light and airy. It's really one of those fragrances you can wear year-round with no issues." — AB

Best Tapered Candles

Carriere Freres Scented Taper Candles (£32)

"OK, why aren't there more luxury scented taper candles? Why am I just learning about this? The 140-year old candle maker Carrière Frères just introduced a taper candle in four lovely scents — each in an equally lovely muted colour. My favourite of the bunch is the jasmine scent, but you can also choose from tomato, spearmint, and cedar." —AK

Best High End Candle

Diptyque Citrouille (Pumpkin) Candle (£56)

"The only thing better than curling up on the sofa with a good book while the scent of your favourite candle fills the air, is when it's a Diptyque candle. The Citrouille candle is made of sugar (pumpkin), spice (chestnut), and everything nice for the perfect autumn aroma." — CD
