"I got married last year in Palm Springs around the same time as her birthday and a few family conflicts came up, so she couldn't make it," Avendaño said. "Her hairstylist Ryan Richmond [right] was there with his family, and he kept disappearing. Then all of a sudden he walks out with a life-sized photo of Sarah waving to the crowd. It was from the Emmys, when she wore a big, coral Christian Siriano ball gown. She painted it white because she said if she did come to the wedding, she would come in a big white wedding dress just to be funny. So technically, she was there — and we were taking photos with her all night."
