At this point, there are myriad ways to be on one's best Kardashian behaviour: with jeans, tequila, makeup, shapewear. Still, among the many product lines the family has produced, its latest confection by Kim Kardashian, a skin-care line called Skkn by Kim, might be its most stimulating yet. With the stamp of approval from Kardashian's aesthetician Joanna Czech, the nine-ish-step skin-care routine has made headlines for its price tag. But how does it hold up against the many-a-celebrity beauty brand already promising Hollywood-level results?

In a recent New York Times interview, Kardashian said that she'd "try anything" when it came to preserving her appearance. And, while that's entirely relatable, it's also not — especially for anyone with a budget and limited shelf space. The ritualistic collection, which retails for $673 altogether, is less likely to fit in your vanity as less as it is your suitcase (both the cleanser and toner exceed 3.4 fl oz). Yet, after personally testing the entire range for more than a week, it lives up to the hype in more ways than one.

For starters, there is little to no smell throughout the line (only the exfoliator boasts a floral scent) — which as a skin-care savant I can appreciate, considering the possible irritations it can cause on any skin type. And, apart from the prices, there is something about a nine-step skin-care routine that reinforces the fact that self-care takes time.

Despite its prehistoric appearance, its resemblance to Kardashian's minimalistic home uncanny, there is some colour (the cleanser has a light pink tint to it) and several top-shelf level ingredients that pack legitimate benefits. All of the greats are there: squalene, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, niacinamide, glycolic and lactic acid, and more, with a few tingling sensations from product to product. Plus, for a douse of sustainability, Skkn offers refills of each item at a discounted price.

Though the line might boast price tags that seem a bit high compared to the rest of the family's commodities, they're actually pretty on-par with the rest of the market. And for anyone curious to try at least one of the nine items, there is beauty to behold when it comes to each product. Keep reading for what you need to know about each step and how you, too, can achieve the glow of a lifetime.

Step 2: Exfoliator

The Skkn by Kim Exfoliator ($55) is a heavy hitter, so I recommend it only for once a week use (and maybe not so much at all for people with sensitive skin). The smell is pleasant and subtle, but the round mineral grains are no joke. As instructed, take a healthy scooping from the cylindrical jar and scrub into the face for one to two minutes.

Step 4: Hyaluronic Acid Serum

We've said it before, but I'll say it again here: the Skkn by Kim Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($90) is no-frills in the best way. A pea-sized amount goes a mile and it absorbs fairly quickly. Plus, unlike other hyaluronic acid serums that can feel a bit slimy on the skin, this one is silky yet effective. At this step in the routine, you should already see a glow.

Step 6: Eye Cream

There's a creamy oatmeal colour to the Skkn by Kim Eye Cream ($75) that is just pleasing to the eye and that needed to be said. But, beyond surface level — not to mention its spherical casing — the peptide-rich formula in this little guy turned out to be just the refresher my eyes needed in the morning and at the end of the day, and it's not at all irritating of the sensitive area. I've found just a dollop under each eye will do the trick.

Step 7: Face Cream

Perhaps the best product in the lineup, in my opinion, the Skkn by Kim Face Cream ($85) ticks every box: its alleged cashmere-like texture is real, it doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky or weighed down, the shea butter and squalane add a layer of hydration that lasts all day, and it has a wicked tightening effect that is ever so subtle but just noticeable enough.

Steps 8 + 9: Oil Drops + Night Oil

The Skkn by Kim Oil Drops ($95) and Skkn by Kim Night Oil ($95) products sort of do the same thing — hydrate — but are to be used in the morning or at night, respectively. They're both lightweight and undisputedly provide the dewy, "glow of a lifetime" the Kardashian's are known for. The night oil, however, seemed faster to absorb than the oil drops, which sort of just sat on top of the skin. In other words, it's just a matter of preference.
