On May 22, 2017 Ariana Grande was performing in Manchester, England, when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device [1] that left 23 people dead and over a hundred more injured. Shortly after the attack, Ariana spoke out on Twitter [2], went to visit fans in the hospital [3], and honoured the victims with a star-studded benefit concert [4]. Now, exactly one year later, the 24-year-old singer has once again taken to Twitter to let her fans know how she's feeling.

"Thinking of you all today and every day. I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day," she wrote.

In an interview with Time, Ariana revealed the Manchester bee actually inspired the title of her new album [6], Sweetener. "When you're handed a challenge, instead of sitting there and complaining about it, why not try to make something beautiful?"
