Wow, the First Pictures From The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 Are Incredibly Haunting

In spite of the fact that we've amassed quite the collection of details pertaining to the second season of The Handmaid's Tale, we've actually seen very little of the season — that is, until now. On Jan. 12, Hulu released the first crop of images from the next instalment of the bleak dystopian drama. Let's just say things are looking even darker as we move forward. We've still got a couple of months to go until the tentative Spring premiere date, so let's all cross our fingers that even more come out in the meantime. Until then, though, here's what we have so far.

Damn, could this be our glimpse at the "Unwomen" who live and work in the Colonies?! Or are the handmaids being punished for what goes down at the end of season one? Either way, these outfits are intense.

OK, this is definitely the bleak vision of the Colonies that we heard about from Marie Claire. In short, this is where disgraced women get sent to work . . . until they die, either from exhaustion or radiation poisoning.

If you recall, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) is carted off to a mysterious and unknown place at the end of season one. We don't know where she goes, but now we know she ends up covered in blood at some point, which does not bode well. Does she murder someone? Is some deviant murdered in front of her?! We're nervous.
