Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Met Over 15 Years Before Welcoming Their First Child

Paris Hilton's dream of being a mum has come true. On 24 Jan., the 41-year-old heiress and husband Carter Reum welcomed their first child together, a boy, via surrogate. Hilton unveiled the news alongside a sweet photo of her holding the baby's hand on Instagram, though they have yet to reveal the name. While she's previously opened up about the couple's IVF journey and desire to have children, she hadn't shared a specific timeline.

Hilton and Reum, a venture capitalist and entrepreneur, have known one another for over 15 years, but they only reconnected in late 2019. The pair, who recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary, quickly fell in love as their friendship turned romantic. After over a year of dating, the two got engaged in February 2021 on a secluded island. They then tied the knot later that year, in November, in a lavish fairytale wedding. "You're the first one who tore down the walls I built around my heart and opened up my heart in a way that I didn't know was possible," Hilton previously said of Reum.

Prior to Reum, Hilton was engaged to model Jason Shaw, shipping heir Paris Latsis, and actor Chris Zylka. Reum, on the other hand, shares a 10-year-old daughter with former reality star Laura Bellizzi.

Though Hilton and Reum had known each other for 15 years, they reconnected on Thanksgiving in 2019. Hilton's friend and Reum's sister Halle Hammond invited her to spend the holiday with the family. "We just had this incredible chemistry," she told People of the moment.

The heiress and businessman were reportedly seen kissing at Golden Globes afterparties. Shortly after, sources confirmed to People and Us Weekly that the two were dating.

April 2020: Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Go Instagram Official

A few months later, Hilton and Reum took their romance to Instagram in celebration of an anniversary. "Happy Anniversary my love," Hilton wrote alongside a photo of the two kissing. "My favourite thing to do is make memories with you. Your kisses are magical. I love being yours and knowing you're mine."

December 2020: Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Celebrate 1-Year Anniversary

The couple celebrated one year together in early December. For the occasion, Hilton shared a video montage of their memories on Instagram, offering a glimpse at their love in a lengthy caption. "I can't believe it's only been a year," she wrote. "It feels like I've been with you a lifetime! I have never felt so close to another person in my life. And that's because you're the first one who tore down the walls I built around my heart and opened up my heart in a way that I didn't know was possible."

February 2021: Paris Hilton and Carter Reum Get Engaged

Hilton and Reum got engaged on a private island, where they were celebrating the DJ's birthday with her family. Surrounded by their loved ones, Reum proposed with a giant emerald-cut diamond ring. "When you find your soulmate, you don't just know it. You feel it." she shared on Instagram.

On 11 Nov., 2021, Hilton and Reum had a fairytale wedding in Bel Air, California, as documented in Peacock's "Paris in Love." They tied the knot at Hilton's late grandfather's former home. Among several bridal gowns, Hilton walked down the aisle in a showstopping Oscar de la Renta dress.

December 2022: Paris Hilton Hints They May be Expecting

Following their one-year wedding anniversary, Hilton, who's previously been open about her IVF journey, hinted at possibly welcoming a child in 2023. "We really wanted to enjoy our first year of marriage together as a couple, you know, before bringing kids into the mix," she told People. "So now that we just had our year anniversary, I can't wait for 2023."

Hilton shared the couple started the IVF process a few months into the pandemic. "We knew we wanted to start a family, and I was like, 'This is perfect timing. Usually I'm on a plane 250 days out of the year, and let's just get all of the eggs stocked and ready,' and we have tons of them just waiting," she said.
