Idris Elba wasn't the only Brit wowing audiences with his Baltimore accent in The Wire. Jimmy McNulty, the Irish-American cop with an attitude problem, was also played by a British actor. Dominic West, who was born in Sheffield has worked steadily on both sides of the Atlantic for his whole career. He's currently playing another American in The Affair.
