Formerly called The Ahwahnee, this hotel is nestled right in the midst of the natural beauty of Yosemite, California. The granite and wood hotel played host to Queen Elizabeth in 1983, but also has a much creepier history: it was infamously the inspiration for the hotel in The Shining. In 1987, it was declared a national historic landmark, but you can still stay there — even if you're not royalty!
